Education & Practice leads to EMPOWERMENT
I love teaching and sharing the wisdom and science of Yoga with children and adults of all ages and abilities. I believe Yoga can support us in maintaining optimal health and well-being through out all the stages of our lives. From direct experience, I know yoga can heal and empower us to be the best version of ourselves in our physical, mental, and spiritual bodies.
We have all faced significant obstacles and challenges in our lives from work, to relationships, to health issues. As a teacher and parent of three kids, I have experienced the impact of stress on health. The repercussions of ignoring stress led to me into severe depression that debilitated me from finding joy in living. As I battled negative self-talk and low self-esteem, it was the tools of yoga that enabled me to balance the mind and take ownership in managing my health and mental state. We can have others supporting us but true change is only achieved through self-awareness and self-transformation.
I have also experienced immense physical pain due to herniated discs in my lumbar and cervical spine at a time when I was running a business. For several months, the pain was to the point that I was bed ridden, unable to walk, dress myself, or even move slightly in bed without being in agony. If it were not for the wisdom of yoga, I would not have healed my mind, body, or spirit. Deep relaxation helped me to deal with the pain while laying motionless waiting for the minutes to pass. It was my ability to change negative chatter to positive thoughts that helped me to face the pain with courage. It was yoga therapy that enabled me to return to my life a few months later without undergoing surgery.
I continue to be a student of yoga not only for myself and my family but so that I may be of service to others to be educated, empowered, and motivated to take ownership of their health and well-being to live life with steadiness, ease, and contentment.
